Does SRMP contribute to the flooding downstream?
No. in fact, the Project attenuates flooding in the lower Agno River by storing the inflow during heavy rains and regulatng the outflow released downstream. This eases the perennial flooding of the river that once affected many towns in Pangasinan.
Is SRMP flooding Urdaneta and Dagupan?
No. The Agno River does not traverse any part of Urdaneta or Dagupan. The water coming from the Ambuklao, Binga and San Roque dams follow the Agno River down to the Lingayen Gulf and do not flow into the Toboy-Sinocalan River that passes through Urdaneta and Dagupan.
What is the maximum intensity of earthquake that the San Roque dam can withstand?
The San Roque dam was designed to withstand the Maximum Credible Earthquake (MCE) of magnitude 0.60g. Even if this did happen, the dam would be subjected to limited settlement and minor cracking but will remain safe and intact.
Is San Roque dam safe?
Yes. The dam was built and constructed by world-class contractors and dam experts using state-of-the-art engineering technologies and best management practices.
