SRPC-CSR Programs
SRPC's core social responsibility programs aim to maintain, enhance and sustain its relationship with the different project stakeholders: community, environment, marketplace and workplace.
SRPC's commitment to implement social development programs to promote a better quality of life for the communities affected by SRMP has been continuing. These are in the areas of education, health, livelihood, community infrastructure and rural electrification.
Education-Reading Proficiency Program
Reading Proficiency Program
The Reading Proficiency Program is a joint undertaking of various organizations initiated by SRPC in partnership with Synergeia Foundation, the municipalities of Itogon, San Manuel and San Nicolas, and Department of Education.
This program addresses the problem of poor reading skills among grade 1 pupils from the public elementary schools of host municipalities. It does this by developing their learning capacity to read and understand simple English.

The reading program uses a systematic and collaborative approach to increase the performance of every child. The first step is to train teachers on effective reading instruction techniques. Alongside this, the program develops instructional materials particularly workbooks and teacher’s manuals. Every student’s and teacher’s performance is continually assessed with an eye to always making the program more effective. Parents are organized into a support system. This is holstering the enrichment learning modules for the children and their parents. Local school boards have been reinvented and reinvigorated to generate more support and resources for education. Experiential training of community leaders on participatory governance complements the program.
Education-Community-Based Skills Training Program
Community-Based Skills Training Program

The Community-based Skills Training Program is SRPC's support to the development of appropriate self-reliance and sustainable programs focused on the out of school youths from the municipalities of San Manuel and San Nicolas in Pangasinan and in Itogon, Benguet.
Objectives
- To train out of school youths on vocational and technical education particularly welding skills.
- To enhance the employability and productivity of graduates by imparting proper guidance to develop positive work attitudes, values, occupational standards and requirements.
Project Proponents
The SRPC is the principal proponent of the program in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Employment Service Office.
Education-Summer Arts Workshop
On April 17, children aged 6-12 from the host communities had an opportunity to have fun learning experience through arts and crafts workshop conducted by SRPC in partnership with the Museo Pambata.
Every activity in the worshop was introduced by a story and concluded by an art work which evoked excitement and captivated the children's imagination. By the end of the workshop, the children had fun listening to stories; creatively expressed themselves in their artworks and interacted and shared ideas with other children.
Health
Taking Time to Care

“Taking Time To Care” Medical and Dental Mission is conducted every year to reach out to the indigent residents of the communities hosting the San Roque Multipurpose Project by making basic health services accessible to them. The activity relies on the spirit of volunteerism and partnership with the local government units, non-government institutions, the academe and other private volunteers.
The mission provides the community residents the opportunity to avail of the free health check-up, dental service, and eye examination. Medicines, multi-vitamin supplements, skin ointments and antiseptics are provided and reading eyeglasses are available to those in need.
CLRP
Comprehensive Livelihood and Rehabilitation Program
The Comprehensive Livelihood and Rehabilitation Program (CLRP) was developed in 2004 to provide adequate economic activities to the families affected by the construction of the SRMP.
SRPC started implementing the initial stages of the CLRP until it commissioned the Pagrang-ayan Community Development Foundation, Inc. (PCDFI), a local NGO, in April 2006 to continue the program.
Livelihood opportunities were initially introduced in the resettlement areas of Camanggaan, Lagpan, Daynet and Bantic and subsequently to the other affected families in the host municipalities.
Social Development Programs
SRPC supports infrastructure projects that are meant to enhance productivity and quality of life among host communities. These projects are implemented with the involvement of the community to provide the families with tempory employment and at the same time empower the community to co-own the projects.
Preserving the Environment

The SRMP operates in a natural environment and harnesses power from a natural source thus it is imperative for SRPC to focus on respecting and preserving the environment.
The environmental management programs of SRPC are implemented for the mitigation and monitoring of environmental impact through "best management practices."
